Browse Safe Powered By Yahoo is a Firefox add-on that provides you a safe searching experience by turning on the SafeSearch mode of your favorite search engines. Whether you are using Browse Safe to search at work with colleagues, at home with family, or in an Internet cafe just by yourself, our add-on helps you enforce the SafeSearch filter to prevent you from being exposed to hazardous adult content from your search results. In this add-on, we support Yahoo, Google, Bing, and DuckDuckGo to perform your safe search.

It is important to know that Browse Safe Powered By Yahoo is not 100% bulletproof. SafeSearch filters of popular search engines cannot catch everything.

How it works

  • STEP 1

    After Browse Safe Powered By Yahoo has been successfully added to your Firefox browser, your default search engine will be modified to Browse Safe powered by Yahoo. The default status of SafeSearch filter is ON. Type your search query in your Firefox ’s address bar and click on “Search with Browse Safe Powered by Yahoo” in the autocomplete, you will see a page of safe results in the search feed with hazardous results filtered out.

  • STEP 2

    If you want to use a different search engine to perform a one-time safe search, you can open the action window of the add-on, select your preferred search engine, and click on the SAFE SEARCH button. You will be redirected to the search result page of the selected search engine with the SafeSearch filter on.

  • STEP 3

    If you want to add Google, Yahoo, Bing, and DuckDuckGo as safe search engines, you can find a special section on our website where you can select your preferred search engine, click here, and add the safe search engine to your Firefox as default search engine with the SafeSearch filter on.

SUPPORTED COUNTRIES AND REGIONS

Yahoo Safe Search is only supported in the following countries and regions: Argentina, Austria, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, Spain, Finland, France, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Israel, India, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Peru, Philippines, Sweden, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, United States, Venezuela, and Vietnam. For the rest of the world, your search results from Yahoo Safe Search will be displayed without the safe search filter.
